GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — Update: Nearly 30 people have been sent to hospitals following multiple anhydrous ammonia leaks at a cheese factory in Greeneville on Wednesday morning, according to officials.
Six people were initially hospitalized following the first leak. An additional 23 people were hospitalized following a second leak.
More than 50 other employees are being monitored, officials said.
Officials added the leaks have been secured and there is no danger to the public.
