The pro-beam Group, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of electron beam technology, and the additive manufacturing specialist FIT AG intend to cooperate in the development of additive manufacturing processes using electron beams.

In a framework agreement, the two manufacturing specialists have expressed their intention to pool their know-how and create new technological opportunities through the resulting synergies. The cooperation will cover the areas of process development, material development, and equipment development for additive electron beam technology.

“The respective expertise of the two companies FIT and pro-beam holds enormous potential,” says Dr. Thorsten Löwer, CTO at pro-beam, “to achieve a significant expansion of additive manufacturing applications using the electron beam.”

FIT AG has over 25 years of experience in additive manufacturing, especially in data preparation and process technology. pro-beam has a track record of more than 45 years of expertise in electron beam technology which makes the company the ideal partner for mechanical engineering.

“I am convinced that this technology cooperation will produce important results,” explains Carl Fruth, founder and CEO of FIT AG, adding “We have some very specific ideas in mind that we can now tackle with pro-beam to achieve a market-ready technology solution.”

The company currently employs a total of 250 people at its headquarters in Lupburg and at other locations across different continents.
