AUGUSTA (WFXG) - Hawk Law Group and Alison South Marketing Group are hosting their second annual "Fit 4 School" event on Saturday, July 31.

“Many families in Augusta need help when it’s time to go back to school,” said Augusta Attorney Reid Sanders. “We are happy to be able to be a sponsor of such a worthwhile cause and to ease the burden for some local students.”

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James Brown Arena, located at 601 Seventh St.

Attendees can get free school supplies, snacks, and a haircut. They can also meet superheroes and fairy tale characters.

Event coordinators say the school supplies will be handed out in a drive-thru to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The free haircuts will be provided inside the arena by the Aiken School of Cosmetology and Barbering. The marketing group says they will have staff members taking temperatures to ensure the safety of those who participate in haircuts.

The organizations ask that everyone, who enters the building, wear a mask. For more information, visit Fit4SchoolGA.com or contact the organization via email at fit4schoolaiken@gmail.com.
