Dallas architect Larry Boerder designed and built this home in 1998. The interior details coupled with the English countryside-style interior give the home a distinctly European feel.
It has three floors and a basement across its 6,542 square feet. Though many of the design details are original to Boerder’s design -- like the molding and paneling -- the home was remodeled in 2017 by the current sellers.
Listing agent Susan Baldwin spoke to the quality of the home as built by Boerder.
“It is probably one of the highest quality homes in Highland Park,” Baldwin said. She attributes the quality in part to Boerder’s design but because he oversaw the construction process.
A formal living room and dining room sit at the front of the home on opposite sides of the entryway. Stained glass windows and a crisscross beamed ceiling adorn a nearby study. A few steps past the foyer, the winding staircase leads to the second floor.
The newly-renovated kitchen attaches to a breakfast room, and the white cabinetry in the kitchen is contrasted by dark wood beams on the ceiling.
Also downstairs and connected to the kitchen, a family room centers around a unique stone fireplace with shelves and cabinets built into the wall. The family room opens to the back patio with three sets of French doors.
All of the bedrooms sit on the second floor, including the master suite which has its own sitting area with a fireplace, and vaulted, paneled ceilings. The master bedroom has intricately-designed ceiling panels and attaches to a large bathroom of neutral white and gray tones.
The four remaining bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
A media room and studio or study room sit on the third floor. In the basement, there is a wine cellar and an additional living area that can be used for a variety of purposes. Outside, the home has a covered back patio with a fireplace, an outdoor grill area, and a pool with fountains.
3832 Greenbrier is listed for $2,920,000 by Susan Baldwin of Allie Beth Allman and Associates. The price was reduced this week.
