A manufacturer of custom plastic parts earlier this month announced plans to consolidate its operations in a new factory in northern Indiana.
State economic development officials said the forthcoming Ameri-Kart facility in Bristol, Indiana, would create up to 210 new jobs in the state by the end of 2022.
Ameri-Kart currently produces rotational-molded and thermoformed components for the manufacturing, construction, marine, recreational vehicle, and safety industries at its plants in Bristol and nearby Cassopolis, Michigan.
Combining those plants into a single, new factory would bolster the company’s efficiency and accommodate an improved layout, automated workflows, and “state-of-the-art” manufacturing technologies, Ameri-Kart officials said. The new 234,000-square-foot building will also feature ergonomic and biophilic design throughout.
“The larger, modern facility will allow us to continue delivering highly innovative products and quality service to our customers and provide an improved work environment to our employees,” Ameri-Kart President Kristian Stankiewicz said in a statement.
Construction on the $10.1 million project is already underway, with relocation expected to proceed in stages between this fall and early 2021.
The company is eligible for up to $1.75 million in state tax credits, provided it meets its hiring and investment targets.
