SINGAPORE: An industrial fire the size of a football field that broke out in Tuas early on Wednesday (Jul 5) was extinguished after about four hours.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at 11 Tuas Link 1 at about 2.05am.
The blaze was brought under control at about 6.15am and has since been extinguished, it added.
"The fire, the size of one football field, had engulfed the premises, which stores and distributes chemicals."
A total of 30 emergency vehicles and about 100 personnel were deployed for this incident.
"At the height of the firefighting operation, firefighters deployed five water and foam jets and two unmanned firefighting machines."
