The Eagles defense could have an NFC North feel to it going forward and that’s not necessarily a bad thing as Jonathan Gannon takes the reigns as defensive coordinator.

Under Gannon, the Eagles are likely going to look to add long, physical cornerbacks to the mix on the outside, with rangy, versatile safeties on the backend.

Philadelphia signed former Vikings in linebacker Eric Wilson and safety Anthony Harris, helping to ensure that Gannon hits the ground running.

As the NFL draft approaches, the Eagles could add more than cornerback early-on and we’ve listed 10 prospects that fit Gannon’s approach.

The younger brother of 2017 second-round pick Obi, Ifeatu logged 42 tackles, eight pass breakups, and an interception this season.

A top-10 cornerback, Stokes is an above-average athlete and a player that could set the Eagles in motion for great cornerback play over the next seven years.

An Associated Press first-team All-SEC selection in 2020, Stokes has length, ball awareness and he is one of the fastest players in this draft class.

Standing 6 foot 1 and 185 pounds, Stokes started all 10 regular-season games in 2020, logging four interceptions (second in the SEC), four passes defended, and three quarterback pressures.

Rachad Wildgoose

A Miami native who attended Northwestern High School, Wildgoose started seven of 10 games played as a true freshman in 2018 (29 tackles, seven pass breakups) and eight of 13 appearances in 2019 (22 tackles, three for loss, one interception, seven pass breakups).

A physical cornerback who lacks some foot speed, Wildgoose opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season after starting two games (six tackles, two for loss, one pass breakup) and then suffering a shoulder injury against Northwestern.
