I started working out at 19 years old to get bigger and look better.

When I started in the fitness business 25 years ago, people would work out to drop a few pounds or get ready for beach season.

I was young, and aesthetics were the primary reason to hit the gym and watch what I ate. Nothing else. Just vanity.

Fast forward to today and people start exercising due to high bp, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Sometimes it becomes a life or death situation for people in these categories, and they risk an early demise if they don’t change their lifestyles.

Whatever your reason to start or continue to exercise, here are a few more reasons many people don't know or think about.

Exercise increases your sex drive.

It not only makes you feel more desirable it stimulates blood flow, which releases endorphins that release testosterone and other hormones.

Enhanced Self-image Leads to Greater Sex Drive.

A big part of sex is feeling and looking sexy. Research shows that people who exercise have an improved body image over people who do not exercise.

Being more comfortable with your body leads to better and more relaxed sex. When you are self-conscious and uncomfortable in your own skin, you tend to be more reserved, and more self-conscious.

It also benefits your partner by being more desirable which is a win-win for both parties, thus creating an increase in frequency and intimacy.

It Also Makes You Smarter.

Studies have shown that exercise releases endorphin in the brain that helps with the retention process. The reason for this is when you exercise, your blood pressure and flow increases, which in turn shuttles more oxygen through the entire body, the brain included.

It raises your focus for up to two to three hours afterward, so it is advisable to work out just before a test or presentation, so you will peak when you perform.

On a more scientific level, it makes the hippocampus super active, and when you rev up these neurons, cognitive function improves. This pattern works better with regular exercise because the benefits can quickly recede. So be regular and consistent with your routine.

It Aids Digestion.

If the food we eat doesn't get digested properly, a whole bunch of problems can arise in the body, such as: gastrointestinal, acidity, acid reflux, heartburn, constipation, bloating, and even bad breath.

This is why healthy digestion is probably the most important element to your health.

If you can't utilize good nutrients and eliminate bad bacteria, you end up sick, diseased, and overweight.

During exercise your heart rate and breathing increase, thus stimulate muscles that support the digestive tract, making it more active and efficient.

These alone are good reasons to start a workout program.

Even if you are not overweight, or sick it is beneficial to all bodies to keep moving!!

The bottom line is that you will feel better on all levels.

You will look better, feel better and perform better on every level of your life.

You don’t need to log hours a day in the gym either.
