10 Marvel Mutants Who Would Fit In With The Doom Patrol | CBR - CBR - Comic Book Resources

In one of the odder synchronicities of the universe, both Marvel and DC introduced new superhero teams within two months of one another based on the idea of the teams being a group of misfits. For Marvel, it was the X-Men, the first mutant superhero team, and one that would struggle to find a fanbase for years before becoming one of the biggest comic book franchises of all time.

The other, DC's Doom Patrol, has had its ups and downs over the years—including a well-received TV show—but has never come close to the same level of success as the X-Men and their movies. Still, the similarities of the two teams—down to each of them being created by an older man in a wheelchair—still exists to this day, and it is hard not to imagine that these groups would probably get along famously.

10 Beak

Beak XMen

A creation of Grant Morrison, who also wrote one of the most successful runs of Doom Patrol for a number of years, Beak has all the makings of a Doom Patrol member. He's awkward, he doesn't really fit in anywhere, and his powers are more of a hindrance than a help. But despite all the negatives life has given this mutant man-bird, Beak continues to try and do what is good and right. That kind of attitude is exactly what it takes to be a part of the Doom Patrol.

9 Mister Sensitive

Mister Sensitive X-Force

With a mutant power that makes everything hurt all the time, Mister Sensitive is only able to function by wearing a specialized suit that dulls the pain of his existence. His power also makes Mister Sensitive a great fighter because he can sense every move his opponent is going to make, but none of that makes his life any easier.

Along with being a hero and former leader of X-Statix, Mister Sensitive owns a successful line of skincare products. All of these pieces would fit in very well with the world of the Doom Patrol, and there's little doubt that Mister Sensitive's products wouldn't be a big hit with the denizens of Danny the Street.

8 Stacy X

A former sex worker, Stacy X has the mutant ability to secrete pheromones that cause bodily functions in others, but only if she can touch them. Depending on what Stacy X chooses, these bodily functions can be enjoyable, embarrassing, or painful. It isn't hard to imagine Stacy X being someone that Danny the Street would find sooner or later, and with her powers, she would make a useful member of the Doom Patrol. Stacy X was originally called X-Stacy, which, as a reference to the drug, is a name that is more fitting for a Doom Patrol member than it is for the X-Men.

7 Rogue

Rogue from the comics

Every member of the Doom Patrol has something that makes them unable to be a part of regular society. From Robotman being a robot to Elasti-Girl having trouble controlling her abilities, the team is forced to live a reclusive life away from others. There is one member of the X-Men that understands that feeling better than anyone else; Rogue.

When Rogue makes skin on skin contact with anyone else, she not only steals their powers, she weakens them as well. If she isn't careful, Rogue can kill someone with the slightest touch. Because of this, Rogue is unable to be close to anyone on a physical level.

6 Leech

X-Men Leech

Born with a physical mutation that left him with green skin and large eyes, Leech was abandoned by his family when he was a baby. Luckily, Leech was found by the Morlocks and given a home. With his power to dampen anyone's powers - mutant or otherwise - Leech could be a useful member of the X-Men except he can't turn his power off and on. The last thing the X-Men need is a member who makes them all powerless when they go off to fight their greatest enemies.

But that kind of thing is exactly what the Doom Patrol would love to have. While the X-Men actively search for adventures, the Doom Patrol would much rather stay home and play Monopoly. Someone like Leech would make that decision all that much easier to make.

5 No-Girl

No-Girl X-Men

A teenage mutant runaway, No-Girl had her brain removed from her body by the human supremacist group, the U-Men. Now just a brain in a jar, No-Girl was saved by the X-Men and became a student at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters where she became close friends with Ernst, a super-strong mutant who looked like an old woman despite being a teen. Perhaps with the help of the Chief, No-Girl could get her own robot body like Robotman if she would like. The Doom Patrol having Robotman and Robotwoman could be very fun.

4 Beast

beast

While he is best known for his blue fur, Beast wasn't always covered in hair. A founding member of the X-Men, Hank McCoy had created a serum that he believed would cure him of the oversized feet and hands his mutant powers gave him, but instead of making him a regular human, it turned him into a cuddly furball.

With his genius intellect and tendency to experiment on himself, Beast would probably receive a warm welcome at Dayton Manor or wherever the Doom Patrol may be living at the time.

3 Eye-Scream

A mutant with the ability to turn himself into ice cream, Eye-Scream wasn't a fan of the X-Men and their cool powers. Eye-Scream decided to invade the X-Mansion and use the Danger Room to kill the X-Men, only to find that he arrived on Kitty Pryde's birthday. While the X-Men battled a clown, Eye-Scream made his way into the mansion but was caught and frozen in his ice cream form by Professor X.

While he may have been a villain, Eye-Scream could be rehabilitated and become a member of the Doom Patrol, though there would be a danger that Beast Boy or Dorothy Spinner could eat him.

2 Bailey Hoskins

When it comes to mutant powers, Bailey Hoskins got one of the worst ones. Bailey is able to blow himself up, creating a huge explosion in the process, which sounds cool at first, but for Bailey, it would be a one time use. Unlike some other mutants, if Bailey was to use his power, he would die.

The idea of a superpowered hero who can only use their power once has a very Doom Patrol feel to it. Bailey wouldn't last long on the team, but his time with them would be well remembered, and his eventual exploding death could even make Crazy Jane weepy.

1 Wolverine

Classic Wolverine comic image

He's the most famous of the X-Men, but he isn't afraid to join other teams. Over the years, Wolverine has worked with Alpha Flight, the Avengers, and even the Fantastic Four. Considering that the Canadian mutant likes to claim to be a loner, he sure spends a lot of time with others.

But that kind of attitude is what makes him a perfect fit for the Doom Patrol. After all, DC's weirdest team is filled with heroes who claim to be loners even as they spend every day together. Like each of them, Wolverine is the kind of loner who really likes to be with a family.
