Deputies have closed roads around a fire Sunday afternoon at an empty cold storage facility in Hilton. According to reports, no one was injured.
Multiple departments responded to the three story structure at the corner of Old Hojack Lane and Collamer Road.
Firefighters say the fire extended from the building to the brush surrounding it. They say the abandoned building was nearly fully engulfed when they arrived on scene.
"I came from a distance as well when the job came and I could see the job from the can of worms area, so they definitely had a fairly significant fire when they pulled up," Monroe County Fire Coordinator Steve Schalabba, says.
Deputies have closed off Old Hojack between Collamer and Henry Street. Collamer is also closed between Summertime Trail and Route 18.
The cause of the fire and where it started in the building has yet to be determined.
