Chris Paul‘s addition to the Golden State Warriors roster continues to be a primary topic of conversation. There have been questions surrounding Paul’s fit on the roster, and even some claims that Golden State made a mistake in acquiring the veteran guard in the first place. However, Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine believes the Warriors are a better team with Paul in their rotation.
During a recent interview with Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, LaVine shared his thoughts on how Paul will fit into the Warriors rotation alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. LaVine also noted how he envisions the Warriors running a three-guard lineup at times, which would force Kerr to run an incredibly small yet versatile rotation.
“Yeah, high-level, high-IQ guys,” LaVine said. “They’re going to figure it out, especially with how much of a threat Steph is off the ball with his movement, how Klay spaces the floor. CP can just be the floor operator. I can foresee those two-, three-guard lineups.”
Following a Team USA practice session ahead of the FIBA World Cup, Kerr kept his cards close to his chest when asked about Paul’s potential fit with Curry and Thompson, noting how those decisions would be made during training camp.
Nevertheless, there will certainly be some teething issues Golden State’s guard rotation will need to figure out, especially with Cory Joseph also in the mix. Still, the Warriors now boast two of the best ball-handlers of All-Time on their roster, and that can only be positive for them as they head into the new season.
