While so many seem to think adding James Harden to Brooklyn’s roster will lock up the Eastern Conference and a 2021 Finals win, there are some who don’t think the move would be beneficial for the Nets.

Among those who don’t want to see Harden in a Brooklyn uniform is former Nets point guard and New Jersey’s first-round pick in the 1991 NBA draft (No. 2 overall) Kenny Anderson.

“He’s an awesome player, but not a good fit for the Brooklyn Nets. They got Kyrie , they got Kevin Durant and let’s build around those two guys and let out young guys grow with Dinwiddie there, LeVert; we got a good team and a young nucleus,” Anderson told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy.com on Heavy Live with Scoop B. “Steve Nash is a rookie coach … let him build and I think we’re gonna be good this year coming up. But with Harden, he would’ve changed all of that a little bit. I really believe that.”

Not only does Anderson think LeVert is a good young piece to build around, he also thinks the wing is Brooklyn’s third star.

“He’s blowing up in the league,” Anderson told Robinson. “He’s playing very well — now with Kyrie and Kevin Durant there, this guy is gonna be awesome for many years to come. LeVert can shoot the ball and put the ball on the floor, penetrate, has great size, he can pass the ball…he can do it all. I think that the Nets are going to be fine with the team that they have this year and they signed Joe Harris … and we got bigs … DeAndre Jordan, he’s there. We got a very good team, I believe.”
