Hochstetler said the Crafty Crafters group have about 30 members and they’re working on other projects, too.

These projects include baby caps in pink and blue for AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, baby caps in holiday colors for Silver Cross Hospital and hats for cancer patients at Edward Hospital, she added.

“We’re basically  a service group,” Hochstetler said. “Everything we make is donated to charity."

Hochstetler said “when things shut down” the group met briefly in the parking lot for socialization.

Now they are able to meet in the recreation room but with guidelines: reservations, temperature checks, social distancing, masks and no more than 25 members at one time, Carol Voyt, the group’s coordinator, said.

“I’m just really pleased with the work our ladies our doing at this time,” Voyt said.
