Conveyor belt sparks fire at Cohoes ceramics factory - Times Union

COHOES - A fire broke out Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. that damaged a ceramics manufacturing facility in Cohoes.

The fire occurred at the Norlite factory on Saratoga Street. Mayor William Keeler told the Times Union on Sunday that the damage was limited to a conveyer belt in the factory, which was the cause of the fire.

There were no reported injuries.

The Cohoes, Watervliet and Watervliet Arsenel fire departments responded to the scene, along with the Maplewood volunteer fire department, Keeler said.
